Tonight, the queens ate salmon. Baby mesclun greens from the backyard (pictured above,) fresh harvested herbs chosen at random (chives, mint, and parsley, if you were curious,) olive oil, balsamic vinegar, a little asiago cheese, and salt* and pepper were tossed together as the bed for a hot salmon fillet. They wilted very slightly under the heat, and the scent of the herbs and the cheese mingled prominently with the fish. I stuck a half an avocado on each plate, too.
And we drank wine. :)
*kosher, of course.
